Established in 2009, Purpose Built Communities combines the best of practice, policy, and research in housing, education, community wellness, and economic vitality to ensure every neighborhood is a pathway to opportunity and prosperity for those who call it home. By coaching, providing resources, and convening its 27 Network Member organizations, Purpose Built works to create a rich ecosystem of opportunities in neighborhoods across the U.S.
In 2021, Purpose Built engaged Coxe Curry to deliver a fundraising learning series for its Network Members, also known as “Community Quarterbacks." The trainings aimed to strengthen the skills of these neighborhood-based organizations across the county who independently fundraise to support their missions.

Across six virtual sessions, we explored fundraising essentials; annual fundraising; fundraising communications; prospecting, data, and reporting; donor cultivation and stewardship; and engaging the board in fundraising. These courses drew from the expert knowledge and skills of our entire firm, from fundraising strategists and data analysts to writers and researchers, to help Community Quarterbacks examine fundraising from every angle.
The result? Purpose Built Network Members now have access to a robust resource toolkit to bolster their fundraising efforts as they progress towards improving the economic mobility, racial equity, and health outcomes of those they serve.
