Jo Hodges
At Coxe Curry, Jo leads the firm’s Interim Solutions practice and directs planning studies, capital campaigns, annual fundraising efforts, and development assessments. She joined us in 2021 after 20 years of fundraising at local nonprofits and managing her independent consulting practice.
Her recent Coxe Curry clients include the Atlanta Botanical Garden, Georgia Historical Society, the PATH Foundation, and Project Chimps.
In the community, Jo is a member of the Governing Board of Woodward Academy, where she serves on the executive committee. She also chairs the development committee for MedShare International, is past chair of the First Presbyterian Preschool Board, and previously served on the Murphy-Harpst Childrens Center board.
Before joining us, Jo was an independent development consultant, leading clients through strategic growth initiatives, organizational assessments, financial planning, and restructuring. In her practice she worked with clients across sectors, including the environment, health, education, community development, aging, and faith-based organizations. Before consulting, Jo’s career ranged from telecommunication negotiation at BellSouth to development roles at CARE USA and the National Arthritis Foundation. She was also the youngest-elected Alderman in Hapeville, Georgia.
A lifelong resident of the Atlanta area, Jo received her BA in political economy from Agnes Scott College. In her free time (aka, when she’s not asking people to support the causes she’s passionate about), Jo enjoys volunteering at her children’s schools and spending time with her family in Atlanta’s Morningside neighborhood.
