At Coxe Curry, Laney leads our Research & Analytics team and oversees all firm projects related to data analytics and prospect research. She works across sectors and engagements, consulting on donor data analysis, development assessments, wealth analysis, prospect discovery and identification, database organization, strategic research and analysis, and urban planning and public policy projects. A seasoned analyst with a broad range of experience and industry knowledge, Laney specializes in external reviews, evaluation, and interpretation of data, including analyzing a client’s datasets, large or small. Working with her, our clients dial in on the most relevant, actionable items to tackle as they strengthen their fundraising strategies and maximize their resources.

Recently, she’s worked with Atlanta Mission; Beloved Benefit, a program of The Same House; Berry College; Covenant House Georgia; The Extension; Georgia Institute of Technology; Grady Health Foundation; Oglethorpe University; and the U.S. Soccer Federation.

In the community, she’s served as a board officer of the LifeGate Group, on the Vestry of the Village Church at Vinings, and as vice president of the Georgia Chapter of the Association of Prospect Researchers for Advancement.

Laney has worked as a professional data analyst for almost two decades and has always been driven by data’s ability to tell a story, foster understanding, and improve systems and operations for greater benefit and impact. Before joining us, she was an analyst and evaluator for the state of Georgia, where she worked in policy and program areas such as foster care and adoption, healthcare, higher education, and public finance. In this role, she interacted with all levels of government leadership and with members of agency committees, serving as a project lead on published reports that aimed to strengthen government operations to more effectively and efficiently serve some of Georgia’s most vulnerable populations. Her professional skills and experience include data reliability testing and analysis, internal control reviews, Lean Six Sigma, operational and management efficiency, resource assessment, grant and contract compliance, and public-sector budgeting.

Laney moved to Atlanta after graduating cum laude from Furman University. She then earned her master’s in public policy from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a concentration in urban and economic development. Her favorite part of her job is blending precision and technical skills with creativity and a passion for mission-driven organizations to tell the stories of our clients (and their incredible community impact) through data.
