Fostering Futures
Founded in 2005, the nsoro Educational Foundation bridges the gap from foster care to a self-sufficient adulthood by equipping those they serve with the tools they need to succeed.
Its scholarship program helps scholars achieve post-secondary credentials by closing tuition gaps and covering housing, food, and transportation costs. Going a step further, nsoro “future proofs” its youth by connecting them with trauma-informed mentors, executive-level coaching, and apprenticeship and internship opportunities so that they are workforce ready, financially fluent, and healthy young adults.
The nonprofit now impacts lives in 31 states, with remarkable results: 81% of nsoro scholars graduate from college compared to the 4% national average of their former foster youth peers.
After a fundraising consulting engagement with Coxe Curry in 2019, nsoro returned to the firm in 2021 to leverage our newly launched Interim Solutions service for day-to-day development and fundraising needs. We placed a contract associate on the ground to work as their interim development manager, where they focused on grant writing, grant reporting, stewardship, database management, board engagement, and fundraising event support.
